| About this Project | ||
|
We've worked on lots of Mustangs, owned lots of Mustangs, showed lots of
Mustangs and driven lots of Mustangs. One thing we don't have
much experience with is putting a Mustang through its paces on the track.
We've always wanted to but been too busy with other aspects of the business.
I guess it's all a matter of converging needs and opportunities but we've
decided to dip our toes in the water on this exciting aspect of the Mustang
hobby.
A couple of things happened to bring us to this point. First, we sell quite a lot of parts both used, original and reproduction. We learn a lot about those parts because of our service and restorations department. By constantly performing this kind of work for customers we learn how well reproduction parts work for their specific application. In recent years we find ourselves doing a lot of restomod work (restoring to modified specs) and more and more of those customers are requesting very nicely engineered products available in today's marketplace. As the modified performance aspect of the vintage Mustang continues to grow we think its smart money to test some of these parts under more severe conditions than street driven so we know how to recommend applications. |

Second, as part of a trade, I ended up with a really straight and solid 68 Coupe, an original California car that presented the perfect base for a workhorse track car. | |

We also have Ssnake, my 67 GT 351 modified fastback, which is ready to go stretch its legs after being primarily used for cruise and show duty. | |

| Next, we figured there's a bunch of folks out there just like us who don't have a lot of experience with this racing stuff, but would probably enjoy watching us trip all over ourselves while we try to figure it out. With all that in mind we thought we'd go give it a shot and keep you updated as we progress. Remember we don't take ourselves too seriously, we're out to learn a lot of things, but mostly to have safe fun. We're going to work on the lowest cost budget we can get away with, just like many of you would have to. We're going to start at the beginner stages and see where it goes from there. Come ride along with us. | ||
